In fact, you can still use this koding vps.

Just use openbox instead of ubuntu-desktop and purge some shit like "gloang*" and "openjdk*" and use xrdp, not vnc.
With a little trick you can even bypass the 60 minutes inactivity shutdown (using xmacros on the koding.com backend terminal)

But I think koding is shutting down all free accounts at a certain time. I had 5 vps running with hitleap from yesterday morning till i went to sleep in the evening. When I woke up and checked my hitleap minutes, I saw that all vps where shut down. I needed to turn them on again and now they are still running (till tomorrow morning I think).
